The work beyond the practice.
Bringing psychological care to places where it is hard to find. A few of the projects closest to my heart.
Bounce Back

Curious about combining EMDR with boxing? This unique approach is also available as part of individual therapy.
Bounce Back combines boxing with EMDR, recognising that trauma is experienced not only in the mind but also in the body. Boxing provides the rhythm for EMDR, while helping to release stored tension and regulate the nervous system. It also makes therapy more approachable and less intimidating. Young people can come to a boxing session rather than feeling like they are going to see a psychologist.
I co-founded the organisation and facilitate group sessions for those who carry deep trauma, but could not otherwise afford therapy. This work is ongoing and made possible by the support of people who believe in its impact.

Zinduka works with communities in Kenya to prevent Female Genital Mutilation / Cutting (FGM/C) and promote gender equality. They empower girls and young women through education, community dialogue, safe spaces and local training. Always with a focus on sustainable, community-led change.
I have trained the staff on the ground in trauma and violence-informed care. During girls' empowerment programmes (GEPs), I provide trauma therapy to girls and facilitate group sessions focused on trauma, recovery and resilience.
Leaving No One Behind

Nuffic's “Leaving No One Behind” programme explores how climate change deepens gender inequalities, particularly in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The programme combines training with field visits to understand how these inequalities affect women and girls in practice.
I trained researchers in gender inequality and intersectionality, exploring the impact on women's and girls' mental health and access to care. During field visits, we connected these insights to the realities and experiences of women and girls in local communities.
Working on something that needs a psychologist or trainer?
I take on a small number of field and training projects each year. If yours might be one of them, I'd love to hear about it.
